Tabi + Derek

Bell Tower Chapel in Boring, Oregon
Friday, September 02nd, 2022

Tabi and Derek’s love story began in Burtigny, Switzerland, where they both attended a university communications course. Tabi, who’s originally from Alaska and Derek, who’s from Hawaii, hit it off so well that they soon began living together in Portland, Oregon, right as the pandemic hit. Knowing he had met his person, Derek wasted no time and proposed in their kitchen during the lockdown.

Roughly two years later, the couple’s nearest and dearest gathered at Bell Tower Chapel, a picturesque Methodist church built in the early 1900s, to share in the occasion of their marriage. Tabi’s brother officiated the ceremony, which made the moment even more meaningful. The group then gathered outside, where they dined and danced amidst the lush greenery and beautiful fall colors. The father-daughter and mother-son dances were especially heartwarming to watch.

Intimate weddings like these make me feel so lucky to do what I do. I wish Tabi and Derek all the best in their new life together.
