Haylley + Josh

Capturing Haylley and Josh’s wedding was one of the most challenging and rewarding tasks of my career. Not only did it take place at the beginning of the pandemic (when venues and vendors were few and far between), but Oregon was also experiencing historic wildfires at the time, and the visibility was at an all-time low. I’ve known Haylley and Josh since their romance began back in high school, so I felt a personal responsibility to ensure that the photography was top-notch. Luckily, everything came together in the end, and the photos remain among my favorites in my portfolio.

On the day of Haylley and Josh’s nine-year anniversary, a small group of family and friends gathered at Pondview Retreat to witness their marriage. This sweet little Airbnb retreat provided a scenic, peaceful atmosphere for the ceremony and reception, where the guests could sit back, relax, and celebrate Halley and Josh’s love—a welcome moment of respite and togetherness during an uncertain time. 

Haylley and Josh said their vows overlooking the pond as their little boy, Tanner, stood between them. He has a big personality and was so fun to photograph. I also loved getting to know Haylley’s dad, a professional DJ and all-around great person, who made sure the music for the event was spot on. Despite, or maybe even because of the craziness of 2020, you could really feel the spirit and intensity of this wedding. It was such an honor to play my part, and I wish my friends Haylley and Josh all the happiness in the world.
