Kristine + Carl

Rain on the Oregon Coast is practically a given, but that didn’t stop Kristine and Carl from celebrating their love outdoors. These two met online and now share a life rooted in Oregon, where they’re often found hiking trails or hitting the gym together. Kristine moved all the way from Rhode Island to start this new chapter, and it was sweet to see her East Coast family make the trip out west to witness the day.

The ceremony was intimate, with just a dozen or so guests, and officiated by Kristine’s sister, adding a personal touch to an already low-key gathering. When the rain came down hard just before the ceremony, we made a last-minute pivot to get everyone under cover. It was the right call, and her family especially appreciated the shift.

Even with the weather, we were able to sneak away for some striking coastal portraits… Kristine and Carl standing against the wild, grey sky and ocean mist, simply glad to be together. The backdrop was dramatic and moody in the best possible way.

One memorable moment? A spontaneous idea from Carl the night before: incorporating a giant two-person crosscut saw and a wooden walking stick into the photos for a playful twist. Totally unexpected, but it made their guests laugh and gave the day a signature moment that was all theirs.

Wishing these two the best as they continue building their life together: one hike, gym session, and Oregon downpour at a time.
