Emma + Sean

Some weddings are special because of the details. Others are special because of the people. This one had it all. 

I first met Sean at Portland State University in Anime Club, and we became fast friends. After finding out that I was a photographer, he enlisted me to shoot his Tinder profile photos. It turned out to be a great decision on his part because not long after he posted his new pics, Emma swiped right. 

The couple’s first date couldn’t have gone better. They quickly found out how much they had in common, including a passion for video games, and they were pretty much inseparable ever since.

Emma and Sean's wedding took place at The Water Oasis in Newberg, Oregon, nestled in the heart of the northern Willamette Valley wine country. The venue was stunning, and wedding was one of the longest and largest I’ve shot, clocking in at 12 hours of shooting. 

Emma was breathtaking in a black gothic fairy princess gown, complete with towering platform heels she wore all day. During the ceremony, she surprised Sean with a voice memo she had sent to a friend after their very first date, gushing about how much she liked him. This made Sean visibly emotional, but his tears really started flowing when Emma walked down the aisle. Not only was his favorite song playing as she came to him… it was her singing in the recording!!!

The reception was a blast. The groomsmen came equipped with lightsabers, and when I suggested they put them to use on the dance floor, they did not disappoint.

It was a true honor to photograph Emma and Sean's big day, and a pretty incredible full-circle moment from those Tinder profile shots years ago. Wishing these two all the joy and adventure the galaxy has to offer. Cheers to Emma and Sean!
